Hops with Coriander Flavor

Coriander is a herbal-spicy, slightly citrusy character reminiscent of crushed coriander seeds: peppery, lemon-zest-like, and sometimes a touch floral. It's different from generic "spicy" (which can be more clove-like or woody) because it suggests a cleaner, fresher, almost culinary-herb quality. This note is most desirable in styles where subtle spice complements yeast or malt character: Belgian-style Witbier and Saison, some Belgian Blonde Ales, Triples, and certain Farmhouse Ales. It can also work in modern hop-forward beers—particularly some IPAs, Belgian IPAs, and pale ales, when used alongside citrus or floral hops to add complexity without heavy resin or dankness.
